Silver-Silver Chloride, (Ag-AgCl) is the industry standard for biopotential recordings, reference and standard electrodes. DocXS electrodes exhibit a very low off set voltage. They are near perfect non-polarizing, (reversible) electrodes that will deliver extremely stable, reproducible signals. They are virtually insoluble in water and Chloride containing solutions (a near zero release of Ag+, Silver ions). This important physical characteristic minimizes the potential risk of Ag+ damage to tissues under study.

Every DOCXS electrode is constructed using only materials and components of the highest quality. Our Ag-AgCl is formed into a wide variety of practical electrode shapes and sizes. The electrodes are the consistency of a soft, silver grey metal that may be filed, sanded or drilled. A soft Silver wire, (99.999% pure Silver, .25mm / 10mil in diameter) is embedded in the center of the Ag-AgCl material to provide an electrical connection point by soldering or other methods. They are extremely durable, cold sterilizable and designed to be reusable almost indefinitely with proper care. They are quite suitable for use in a broad range of applications and will provide a reliable method for acquiring clear, accurate, and reproducible biopotential recordings.
